What is a QR Code and what is it used for?
A QR (Quick Response) code is a two-dimensional barcode capable of storing rich data. Unlike traditional barcodes, QR codes can be scanned quickly by smartphones from any angle to share URLs, contact vCards, Wi-Fi passwords, and digital payments.
How do I scan a QR Code?
Open your native camera app on iOS or Android, point it directly at the QR code, and tap the notification banner that appears. Modern smartphones do not require any third-party scanning app.
How do I use the EZ QR browser extension?
Click the extension icon in your Chrome, Edge, or Firefox toolbar. It automatically detects the URL of the tab you are viewing and instantly generates a high-resolution QR code. You can also type custom text to create codes on the fly.
Does the extension work offline?
Yes. The browser extensions generate QR codes locally on your device without sending any data over the network, providing complete privacy and offline operation.
Are my generated URLs tracked?
No. We maintain a strict zero-tracking policy. Neither the website nor the extension logs the URLs or text you encode. Data is encoded directly into static matrix codes without server retention.
