Frequently Asked Questions & Guide

What is a QR Code and what is it used for?

A QR (Quick Response) code is a two-dimensional barcode capable of storing large amounts of data. Unlike traditional barcodes, QR codes can be scanned quickly by smartphones and dedicated scanners from any angle. They are widely used to bridge the physical and digital worlds—instantly sharing website URLs, contact information (vCards), Wi-Fi passwords, promotional content, and digital payments without requiring the user to type anything.

How do I scan a QR Code?

Scanning a QR code is incredibly simple. Open the native camera app on your iOS or Android smartphone, point it directly at the QR code, and tap the notification banner or link that automatically appears on your screen. You do not need to download a third-party app on modern mobile devices.

How do I use the EZ QR Chrome Extension?

Simply click the extension icon in your Chrome toolbar. It will automatically detect the URL of the tab you are currently viewing and instantly generate a high-resolution QR code. You can also manually type text into the input box to create custom codes on the fly.

Does the extension work offline?

Yes! Our Chrome extension generates the QR code entirely locally within your browser using your machine's CPU. You do not need an active internet connection to generate a code for custom text or copied URLs, which also ensures maximum privacy and speed.

Are my generated URLs tracked?

No. We have a strict zero-tracking privacy policy. Neither the website nor the extension logs the URLs or text you encode. Everything is processed directly on your device or our edge servers without permanent storage.
